Designed for learners aged 18 and above, entry into these qualifications typically requires one of the following:

1. Relevant Level 3 Diploma qualification or equivalent.
2. GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects or an equivalent qualification.
3. Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (confirmation required from the delivery center).

OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma qualifications signify practical knowledge, skills, and competences equivalent to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and the second year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree program, assessed in academic terms.

The OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Management comprises 12 mandatory units, totaling 240 credits with 2400 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT), and a minimum of 1200 recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

To attain the qualification, learners must accumulate 240 credits, with 120 credits at Level 4 (across 6 units) and 120 credits at Level 5 (across 6 units).

Units in this qualification undergo internal assessment by the center and external verification by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, determined by achieving specified learning outcomes.

To pass a unit, learners must present evidence demonstrating fulfillment of all learning outcomes and meeting standards in assessment criteria. Assessment criteria fulfillment is judged by the Assessor, who should provide an audit trail illustrating how the overall achievement judgment for learners was reached.

Completing the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Management opens avenues for various academic progressions, including the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management.
